NOOOOOOOOO

guys, i thought it was all over when the 80s station (104.1) was inexcusably sat on by Jack FM...luckily i made it through, i'm still here.
and i recently found out that kdwb's morning show has replaced corey foley with some new chick to cohost with dave ryan, ok, fine, i never was a big fan of corey because angie taylor was way cooler, still...i was at least getting used to her, and now she's done.

BUT NOW that i find out the devastating news that our favorite drive 105 is gone too, now "love 105" aka lite rock bullshit. basically i don't know if i even want to come back to minnesota ever. this sucks.

summertime is all about cruisin with the radio, i leave for a few months everything changes, why come back at all?
I won't want to get in a car because it will just bum me out so much, so i'll never get to see anybody because i won't be able to go anywhere.

perhaps part of this grief is coming from the nostalgia of the original fky, who had no tape deck, or cd player, and thus functioned solely on it's radio waves. and fky too, sadly, is no longer with us, tri-colored or otherwise.

the point is, i like my mn just the way it is and i know it's stupid but it makes me sad that some things are going to be different about it when i get back. this must have something to do with my subconscious underlying fear of change.

2 quarters down, 10 to go...and look mom, I can walk!

I guess once you have established a routine nothing seems quite as new anymore. But in reflection, a lot has happened these last 6 months.
The synchro team: we're tight, but in a different way than sps, i guess because our goals are not in the same place. I will always love and miss my girls from stars who i've been with pretty much from the start of that club's competitive existence. But it's also SO sweet to be on the team here that has traditions which trace back through so many years of great athletes, and people I have idled growing up, and my idols today who leave this team to compete in the Olympics. The next collegiate national championship we win will make 25 out of 31! We took second this year, but next year we're hosting the meet so it's going to be cRaZy exciting. Our last meet of this season is on the horizon: US nationals, Indianapolis, end of the month.
School: I have to pick a major. Duh. But I don't want to put it off any longer and get behind, I'm getting more serious about this. Right now I'm looking at linguistics, it's a little bit of everything I'm interested in studying/learning/pursuing like a combo of languages, international studies, sociology, anthropology, psychology, and philosophy. The more I read about it the more intrigued I become but I still don't know too much so I'm meeting with some people to get the scoop.
Outlook: This summer is going to rock. Without required synchro, I am going to have more time than I'll know what to do with. Yikes, I hope that doesn't mean working more. I want to go camping. Let's go camping. Oh yeah! and Camilla's brother Niccolo aka "Nico" is coming to MN for a few weeks this summer, then Rose and I will go back to Rome with him and live in Italy forever with our beloved Cami. And by forever I do mean about 3 weeks. Then I'll go back to Ohio where I'll be living in a house with 6 of my teammates, all upperclassmen. That reminds me, anyone up for taking culinary class this summer/ just teaching ourselves how to cook/ just making food and then eating it/ continuation of our world cuisine nights? yessss
Funny words & phrases:
red riding hood, flurries, yikes!, chillin' for the beats, botanicals

thanks MT for getting the ball rollin!
has anyone notices these "nudges"?? how much is xanga trying to be facebook!

Check it, I am taking moral philosophy as a night class, so I walk into the room and it is filled with quite an older crowd. The only empty seats left were front and center so I take a seat and look over my book while we wait for class to start. Then, in walks an attractice younger man and I'm all exited because he has to sit next to me since the room is full. But oh no, he is the instuctor! That's right, I have a hot philosophy teacher, JEALOUS? He's got a sense of humor too, it's definately going to be a good class.
Other things: my roomie is a vegetarian, ex-vegan. my advisor told me to stay in my easy-ass math class (we are learning where x and y coordinates are on a graph, what an exponent is, and how to use a TI83) so I can get a good grade for my gpa. my synchro coaches rock. if you play thug music loudly with dorm room door open, people will come. i can get you can get all the free oranges you want.
still don't get that i'm going to be LIVING here, but slowly it's becoming more real...
